Support comes in all shapes and sizes!
It has been so helpful to be in contact with all the other families across western Canada that are too adopting a child from Ethiopia via the same adoption agency.
Some days...... the wait is simply unbearable however, being able to contact another families that is in a similar position to chat helps. It appears we all have been waiting for a very long time to complete our families. So I guess we are not alone in this process. The group has been sharing travel itineraries, updates, prays and words of support to help us all get through this wait!!!
As well, I am so grateful to my close friend who is also going through the "adoption process" via Russia. Her support and listening ear has been extremely helpful on days when I think this is never going to happen. Then, there are the days when we wake up dreading another day of "no news" that our hearts just feel broken, just hearing her voice often helps me gain a little more strength to hang in there hoping tomorrow will be the day to travel.....
We know, that this wait is not only hard on us however, our families.....our parents have been extremely supportive, my mom has been busy knitting blankets and is currently working on a elephant rug for baby Mushy. My little nephew Johnny just last week,, cleaned out his book shelve and gave Mushy an entire box of books and then my sister never forgets to ask in each phone call if we have heard any news. Although at times I may not say much but it's because there's not much to say!
Dwayne's family is similar, there are pictures up at Dwayne's parents house just waiting for his arrival, his sister Lori and husband Jim is hoping we travel via Toronto so they, will get to meet Mushy on the way home to Saskatoon and auntie Edith although has no computer, makes arrangements frequently with a friend to sue her computer to check out our family the blog for any updates!
Not to mention the extended family support.
I'm grateful to everyone who has inquired about any updates, offered support, shared excitement in our adoption journey. Mushy will have allot of love when he does finally arrive. Thank you!
