Building a home and building a family!

Our lives will never be the same! It has been approximately 6 wks since we heard the great news that Kayin will be joining our family. It has been an event filled with mixed emotions.....excitement, joy, love and even a little fear. For both of us it has been extremely hard to focus on daily living, knowing that our child is being cared for in an foster home far far away. Not one minute passes in the day without us wondering how and what he is doing not to mention if he is receiving enough love and food. We carry a picture of him where every we go along with the many pictures in every room in our home. In speaking with the adoption agency, then have provide us with a time frame of anywhere between 3-5 months from the date of the referral to traveling to Ethiopia to meet our son. We were all hoping that he would be home for Christmas however, it looks like it maybe Jan. or early Feb. This part of the waiting is very difficult we are busting at he seems!!!
Just before we got the wonderful news that Kayin would be joining our family, we started a home renovation. It has helped tremendously in keeping us both focus and busy. We have been spending allot of time making design decision along with Dwayne has pitched in to help the builders. Our first room that we plan to complete is Kayin's bedroom. We are looking forward to setting up his furniture, putting out his toys and hanging up his cloths. When we think about it is the simple things of parenthood we are so looking forward to.
